Daun
Daun is a climatic health resort and Kneipp spa town with a mineral spring. Attractions include the spa gardens, crater lakes and the Volcano Museum. You can also enjoy impressive bird’s eye views on a flight in a glider or light aeroplane with the Segelflugverein Vulkaneifel (Gliding Club). Gemündener Maar (which also serves as an outdoor swimming pool) offers excellent fishing opportunities.

The officially designated health resort in the collective municipality of Ulmen is well worth a visit. Sights of interest include the Marien-Wallfahrtskirche – a pilgrim church with a high altar – the Achterhöhe viewpoint, the Ice Age caves at the Falkenlay rock massif and the carved altar in Driesch, which depicts the suffering of Christ.

Manderscheid
The climatic health resort and Kneipp spa town has a wealth of sights of historical interest, including Manderscheid castles, the local heritage museum, the Crater Lake Museum and Niederburg castle. The candle-making centre Kerzenwerkstatt Moll, which is open to visitors, offers fun activities, whatever the weather. Cyclists can enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Eifel on the Maare-Mosel cycle path. Münstermaifeld
The castle of Burg Eltz towers high above Münstermaifeld. This spectacular sight is famous far beyond the Eifel region. Parts of the castle are open to visitors during the summer months. Guided tours are offered daily from 1 April to 1 November.Distance: approx. 60 km

Nürburg is not only famous among motor-racing fans. The world-famous Nürburgring set in the heart of the Eifel plays host to a variety of racing series as well as the annual Rock am Ring festival, attracting many visitors.Distance: approx. 43 km
