The mountain spring in Bad Bertrich – a hot spring containing sodium sulphate – emerges from the volcanic mountains of the Eifel at a temperature of 32°C. The precious mineral spring was discovered some 2,000 years ago by the Romans, who used their great expertise to collect the water and secure the spring.
Mineral water from the hot spring was already used for its healing properties in the Roman baths. Today, water from the Glauber’s salt spring is still successfully used for prevention and revitalisation, owing to its mild, targeted effect.
